Now the country will take the drought seriously. Beer threatened

beerpocalypse

Oh ye who mock and scoff at the drought, prepare to be chastised. Major beer breweries are cutting back on water usage and that can only mean less beer.

This could be a #firstworldpain. Breweries say they must “brew more beer but use less water.” This could mean a higher alcohol content in American beer, which would make it more like Belgian beer. (Belgians, I hear, enjoy watching American tourists accidentally get hammered on their 15% alcohol beer.)

Craft beer breweries generally use twice as much water per barrel of beer as large scale breweries. Water is used throughout the entire process, from growing the grains to processing it into beer. But water is getting scarce. Is this the Beerpocalypse?
