About 600 of us ran the Cedar City Half Marathon this morning, including the 10k and 5k. The Half Marathon started at 7 am at 8,200 feet altitude on Cedar Canyon Road, ending at 5,800 feet.. It was about 40 degrees at the start. Buses took runners up to the start. The last bus left at 6:15 which meant we had to be up way too early to get there!
As you can see by the photo, the scenery is spectacular. The first five miles were steep downhill, then it leveled out a bit with a few mild uphill grades. I did 2:25, about eleven minute miles.
