IRS suspends Lois Lerner

Senior IRS officials asked for Lois Lerner’s resignation and she refused.

Whether her suspension will lead to dismissal was unclear, given Civil Service rules that govern federal employment.

Hmm, given she has no allies left, I suspect she’ll either resign or be forced out soon. Maybe if she’s employed by the IRS they have to pay her legal bills? I’ve heard that hiring a lawyer to defend against a federal criminal indictment starts at about $150,000, more if it goes to trial.

Lerner does seem to be remarkably tone-deaf when it comes to crisis management, PR, and having a clue about testifying.
