IRS senior officials knew Tea Party targeted, says AP

This is a bombshell. Senior IRS officials knew as early as 2011 that nonprofits linked to the Tea Party and Glenn Beck were targeted for additional scrutiny and harassment. The IRS explanation so far has been inadequate, to put it mildly. This revelation throws gasoline on the fire. This is an outrageous abuse of power.

Senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew agents were targeting tea party groups as early as 2011, according to a draft of an inspector general’s report obtained by The Associated Press that seemingly contradicts public statements by the IRS commissioner.
