Renewable energy is so last year, gas rules, say states

More than half the U.S. states with laws requiring utilities to buy renewable energy are considering ways to pare back those mandates after a plunge in natural gas prices brought on by technology that boosted supply.

Sigh. California is still charging ahead with renewable energy but too many other states are reversing. Having said that, California will have a difficult time reaching its mandated goal of 33% renewables in-state by 2020. The grid is nowhere near capable of handing it nor does it appear there will be enough renewable energy by then. Constantly changing federal regulation and subsidies make it difficult to plan ahead.

But going backwards is no solution either.
