Dropkick Murphys at Coachella 2013

While we mourn the victims of the Boston bombing atrocity, let’s celebrate a great Boston band. My wife says the Dropkick Murphys always give 100 per cent. She’s right. Amped-up Irish punk from Boston meets traditional Irish music. One of the band member’s father told them early on, when you’re on stage, you got to give it all you got, and they do.

In a really nice tribute, Dropkicks’ bassist Ken Casey said “If there hadn’t been The Pogues, there would never have been the Dropkick Murphys,” then introduced Pogues accordionist James Fearnley, who joined in on two songs.

(Advance to 4:30 for the start of their show.)
