The Three O’Clock are back, and this is a good thing indeed

The-Three-Oclock

The reunion of The Three O’Clock hit national TV last night, as the Paisley Underground favorites stopped by “Conan” to perform their 1982 classic “With a Cantaloupe Girlfriend” in advance of the band’s appearances at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this weekend and next. Check out that video posted above. The band — frontman Michael Quercio, drummer Danny Benair, guitarist Louis Gutierrez and Adam Merrin of The 88’s sitting in for original keyboardist Mickey Mariano — also will release a new compilation, The Hidden World Revealed, this summer.

I knew Danny Benair a bit when he was in The Quick, his band before The Three O’Clock, in LA when I had a fanzine called Street Life. The Three O’Clock mix power pop with psychedelic and rock real good too. They sound great.
