The hollowing out of China and the United States

A Financial Times op-ed says China ia showing signs of dynastic decline, with a “hollow state ideology in which nobody believes,” corruption, cronyism, and a military not under control of the government. This sounds like the US, doesn’t it? The ongoing clown show with generals being embroiled in sleaze indicate a leadership that is indeed hollowing out.

Our supposed leaders, like those in China, have abdicated their responsibilities, mostly preferring to pillage for their own gain, abuse the perks of office, with little interest in the general good.

That’s what happens when government hollow out. And it is happening here.
