The 8 MW behemoth wind turbines planned by Vestas will be able to power about 5,000 homes each and will be part of the monster offshore wind farms in Europe. The turbines are 613 feet tall. The blades are 262 feet long.
Meanwhile, here in the good old US of A where we pride ourselves on being technology leaders and oh-so-green, we have precisely zero offshore wind turbines.
