1,600 GW of offshore wind would power the entire nation of Japan and more. This is a very long-term plan. But at least Japan is working towards it, unlike here.
A 300 MW offshore wind farm is expected soon in Japan. The first US offshore wind turbine might appear sometime in the current century unless the usual interminable squabbling delays it until past 2200. Don’t hold your breath.
We need a better plan than having wind turbines everywhere in the world. How about generators that power themselves and take up no more space than a doghouse to power your typical home?
