The Yankee Therapist on Paul Ryan and Ayn Rand

We all have our contradictions.  Or we lie.

Perhaps that’s a distinction without a difference.

Paul Ryan has called Ayn Rand the most influential person in his life, shaping the way he thinks, motivating him to go into government.

Yet none of Ayn Rand’s heroes have anything but disdain for government.

Now, or last April to be more precise, Paul Ryan discovered that Ayn Rand has an atheistic philosophy and little but disdain for the family unit as an unnecessary element of society.   Now Paul Ryan rejects Ayn Rand.

So for twenty years, give or take, he didn’t notice?  Really?  Why?

Maybe it’s because there’s more than truth in the reality that

AYN RAND is an anagram for RYAN DNA  —

but now we know that Ayn Rand used Medicare when she had lung cancer.

How could she?  What a betrayal!  And under her married name!

No wonder Paul Ryan is driven to destroy Medicare,

because Medicare corrupted his idol, and so did Social Security.

Ah, I see our time is almost up.

I will leave you with this thought:

People think that a liar gains a victory over his victim. What I’ve learned is that a lie is an act of self-abdication, because one surrenders one’s reality to the person to whom one lies, making that person one’s master, condemning oneself from then on to faking the sort of reality that person’s view requires to be faked”¦The man who lies to the world, is the world’s slave from then on”¦There are no white lies, there is only the blackest of destruction, and a white lie is the blackest of all. –  Ayn RandAtlas Shrugged

  1. I’ve never read Atlas Shrugged… but my fiancee has, and says it absolutely does NOT support the neo-con agenda as claimed. No surprise, I guess, that yet one more book might be twisted to fit what someone wants it to say.
