Byr Savings Bank former Chairman Jon Thorsteinn Jonsson and the lender’s ex-Chief Executive Officer Ragnar Zophonias Gudjonsson were today found guilty of fraud and sentenced to four and half years in prison by Iceland’s Supreme Court.
I’m cheered that Iceland still has a functioning justice system unlike the pretend enforcement we have here against financial criminals.
So if you want justice you may have to leave the US and go to Iceland?
Damn.
Well, during the 1980’s S&L debacle, thousands of bank execs went to prison. We need to do this again.
