Rick Santorum and Gasbag Gingrich will probably stumble on a bit longer, loudly proclaiming their candidacies to be as alive as ever. But Plastic Man has the Republican nomination and he will now scurry to the center and pretend he never uttered any of the crazy extreme right stuff.
But make no mistake. This is not a slam-dunk for Obama. Republicans will forget their differences and support Romney just as Democrats will forget all of Obama’a broken promises and evasions.
And we won’t have serious discussion of issues by either party.
