Vertical garden provides food at O’Hare airport

A vertical garden at O’Hare airport grows 1,100 plantss aeroponically for use by airport restaurants. Transportation costs are thus minimal and the food is completely fresh. The grow lights probably use substantial energy so maybe some type of renewable energy could be used instead.

This innovative project shows how food can be grown in urban areas. Kudos to O’Hare Airport for doing this test project.
