Bears will have trash can feast in CT due to power outages

Maybe they need bear proof trash cans, like tested in Anchorage (Bob Hallinen / Anchorage Daily News)

Power is still out for many in Connecticut, four days after the storm. Much food in refrigerators will be dumped into trash cans. Bears in rural and suburban areas will happily raid them.

Yes, there are bears in suburban areas in Connecticut. One of my sisters, who lives there in the semi-country, regularly sees them (mountain lions too, every now and then.) When I was there a few weeks ago, their 90 lb. dog went berserk, running around outside looking for a bear that had just raided the compost bin.

They will feast on the trash cans filled with spoiled food goodies.
