Our pal DJ makes delicious cheese and sells it mostly at farmer’s market. His new flavor, Honey-Fig Chevre, is an instant success. If you want to order some (West of the Rockies), contact him.
It’s made with Cedar City honey, Toquerville figs, and of course all-natural Jackrabbit Ranch soft goat cheese. The response was overwhelming – and it sold out very quickly.
His Rosemary-Garlic Chevre is similarly delicious. And all of this is an example of how home-based businesses filling niches can generate income regardless of how the economy is doing.
There has got to be a better word that “artisanal”. Yes, I understand, it is *correct* — but so is “gay” meaning “lively”. The attention is directed, unfortunately, to the last two syllables of “artisanal” and … well, there you have it.
I call word choice. C’mon. Gourmet, handcrafted, or just plain yummy.
Gourmet is a much better word, good point…
We just call it artisan cheese. And we’ll have it at the Iron County Fair this weekend.
