While want ads that exclude the unemployed from applying for jobs might be legal, they are mean-spirited and probably counter productive. Just because someone lost a job doesn’t mean they’re not qualified.
The probably cause for this is employers are getting so many applications for each job that filtering out the unemployed gets the number of applications down to a manageable level – as well as helping to create a new underclass.
