Two-thirds of New York City rooftops suitable for solar

An ambitious mapping project shows that many NYC rooftops could have solar installed on them and that doing so would generate needed power during peak load times. However the grid would need to be upgraded to handle new distributed and variable power sources coming from all directions at once. It would also be expensive. Even with that, putting power sources in major metro areas makes sense. Let’s hope this trend continues.
