The techie toilet. Only $6,300

The Kohler Numi has “has a motion-activated lid and seat; integrated air dryer; a heated seat; feet warmers; ambient lighting; built-in speakers with FM radio and an MP3 player input jack… all controlled by a detachable touch screen remote that can save settings for up to six users.”

What, no wi-fi? AND no IP address??? For $6,300, you should be able to change your settings remotely via an iPhone app as well as make that all-important “fashion statement in your home,” as the Kohler CEO put it. Because impressing people with where and how you poop is quite extraordinarily important, wouldn’t you say?

Who is the target buyer for this? Vapid members of the idle rich who never leave the cities? I’d like to take them backpacking on a cold day then watch the fun when they comprehend they’ll have to poop in the woods. But there is a book for that!
