I’ll be in transit today, so will predict now that a deal will be reached today, averting a shutdown, or within a few days.
None of the negotiations on the budget do anything to cut the deficit and are about trifling amounts of money, comparatively. So, it’s all just both parties pandering to their bases.
The best way to cut the deficit is to bring all the troops home and make corporations pay a reasonable amount of income tax.
Don’t forget to make the rich pay a fair tax again, like 91% on earnings over $10,000,000 or some similar number. Less than that is taxed less, just what you make over that is taxed that high.
Sound unreasonable? It’s not. We’ve had something like that before. We’re not broke and we’ve never been.
Right now, we have the government money has bought. Only, since most of the money is with the rich and their big corporations, that’s the government we have, not one that represents 90+% of America. Do it or we’ll end up in a feudal system if we aren’t already there.
Make the rich pay! Make big corporations pay!
Your comment about taxing the rich reminded me. You should check out this action people are organizing. Nothing groundbreaking, but it highlights the issue at least.

US Uncut is also doing great stuff here. It’s an issue that most everyone, regardless of politics, agrees with.
