A cautionary note on Egypt

Jim Kunstler says the revolts are fueled by increasing popularion size, decreasing resources (including food) and mismanagement of contraction by governments. Further, people were probably jubilant in the early days of the French Revolution but it ended with the Reign or Terror and installation of a new monarch.

A democracy in Egypt, even if it happens, does not solve the underlying problems of more people and less resources.

  1. ratio of people to resources will always be a problem under the present system of capitalism, as a small pampered bunch of parasites grab the biggest slice of the cake. Think it through, there are alternatives to the present system of trying to amass as much as possible for yourself and to hell with everybody else. We surely have the imagination to come up with a fairer system based on needs rather than greed.
