World’s biggest offshore wind project gets ok

This 1GW wind farm will be in the Thames estuary off London, part of the UK’s ambitious plan for wind power. Earth2Tech reports on this and other renewable energy projects. Like Denmark. It gets a whopping 19.7% of its electricity generation from wind now and swaps for hydro-powered energy from other countries when the wind it’s blowing.

The US needs to implement offshore wind on a massive scale too. Between wind, solar, and geothermal, we have the ability to produce enormous amounts of clean energy, and to do so on a steady, reliable basis.
