Yes, slime from the West has been dumping toxic waste in the waters off Somalia. This is abhorrent and environmental racism at its worse. But to make the leap that the pirates are then justified in kidnapping and theft and are somehow freedom fighters striking a noble blow for Somalia is, well, silly. Last time I checked, they were buying Mercedes for themselves, not helping the people.
And it should come as no surprise that if you kidnap someone, that their allies and friends will certainly try to get them back and may well even kill you in the process. that risk goes with the territory.
Having said that, the West and the US also needs to take immediate measures to stop the dumping of poisonous and toxic materials in the ocean off Somalia.
