Bioreactor for cellulosic ethanol
Ethanol production from wood chips, grass and other plant material could “explode” by 2012 if a commercialized facility to produce the second generation of biofuels is successful, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer said on Thursday.
Cellulosic ethanol can be made from manufacturing and food processing leftovers, from plants like switchgrass that are grown on non-crop land that need little water or fertilizer, fast-growing trees, and many other ways.
