Rust Belt to green jobs

This is precisely what the country needs. Renewable energy creating new jobs.

In the Rust Belt town of Newton, Iowa, the recently closed Maytag plant is now being used to build concrete towers for wind turbines. Another factory is building the massive turbine blades.

Jobs are coming back. Iowa has been called the “Saudi Arabia of wind energy.” In ten years, their economy could be booming. Let’s hope so. This is a double win. Renewable energy for the country and jobs in areas that desperately need them.

  1. The only thing that will restore the economy in the USA is local value added economies which add values up several levels to the retail level and then the values recyling the process over and over again.

When taxpayers pay for any kind of research and dev. and the production phase is sent out of the USA, the taxpayers pay their way out of their jobs as they shop their way out of their jobs in places like Wal-Mart.

Federal Reserve Bank Chairman Ben Bernanke unknowlingly sum up the problem when he said the best way to stimulate the economy with your stimulus money is to spend it on ” domestically produced products”.

Like most everything else, with things like wind energy, we need to start with incentives for small businesses and farmers to produce it for their own use with this evolving to a commercial product.
