The Hindenberg Omen

This ominously named NYSE indicator tracks divergences and warns of possible near-future crashes. While it doesn’t always predict accurately, a crash has never happened without a Hinderberg Omen within the previous 40 days.

On June 6, we got a Hindenberg Omen.

And just to makes things even cheerier, the AP says everything is out of control.

Heat and cool your home with geothermal energy

This highly informative video by Bruce Ritchey, CEO of WaterFurnace International, details how geothermal heat pumps can be used to heat and cool homes. Not only is the cost less than with conventional systems, the systems are quiet, environmentally friendly, and require less maintenance.

These heat pumps use the stable temperature of the earth a few feet underground to store heat in the summer and use it in the winter. Thus, the energy to heat and cool the home comes from the earth itself, something which has obvious huge potential, especially in the Northeast where heating oil is becoming extremely expensive.

Is Obama an enlightened being?

Even the normally satirical Mark Morford appears to have been sipping the Kool-Aid - envisioning Obama as a Lightworker who will usher in a New Enlightened Era. Seriously, he’s really saying that.

It is something more. Even Bill Clinton, with all his effortless, winking charm, didn’t have what Obama has, which is a sort of powerful luminosity, a unique high-vibration integrity.

Well, pass me the crystals and let’s get in a circle and chant “Om.”

People, Obama is a politician. Not a Godform sent to redeem us. Unreasonably sky high expectations have a way of getting punctured by craggy political realities.

Will Obama be better than Bush? Of course. But come Inauguration Day, he’s won’t be floating down from the heavens to take the oath of office.

The Blue Voice appears as bemused as I am by Morford.

Steppenwolf - Monster (Live 2004)

One of the best protest songs from the 60’s and as relevant as ever. And it’s nice to see John Kay still has it.

From the lyrics

And though the past has its share of injustice
Kind was the spirit in many a way
But its protectors and friends have been sleeping
Now it’s a monster and will not obey

The spirit was freedom and justice
And its keepers seem generous and kind
Its leaders were supposed to serve the country
But now they won’t pay it no mind
‘Cause the people grew fat and got lazy
And now their vote is a meaningless joke
They babble about law and order
But it’s all just an echo of what they’ve been told
Yeah, there’s a monster on the loose
It’s got our heads into a noose
And it just sits there watchin’

America where are you now?
Don’t you care about your sons and daughters?
Don’t you know we need you now
We can’t fight alone against the monster
