Complete transcript of Clinton’s concession speech

Right here. Some excerpts.

Could a woman really serve as Commander-in-Chief? Well, I think we answered that one.

And could an African American really be our President? Senator Obama has answered that one.

I endorse him, and throw my full support behind him. And I ask all of you to join me in working as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me.

It’s onward to the White House and President Obama. Anyone who thinks that either a President Hillary Clinton or President Barack Obama wouldn’t be orders of magnitude less reactionary than Bush is living in a Leftist gloomscape. Sometimes things do get better. This is one of those times. The expectations that Obama will raise will provide huge opportunities for progressive change – but progressives need to take full advantage of them. Forget the doom, gloom, and bunker mentality. We have major openings for change coming.

  1. Acvtually I think Hillary would, in many ways, have been just as reactionary as Bush and more reactionary than McCain. Not in social programs, perhaps, but certainly in the arenas of executive power, foreign policy, and tax cuts. I’m glad she’s out of the race. Her lust for power frightens me.
