Wave power for Maui

Maui will soon have Hawaii’s first wave power project. May there be many more. Maui has also been developing sizable amounts of wind power. Makes sense for an island to produce their own clean power rather than ship in oil from the mainland to be used in power plants. Locally produced clean energy is the best kind.

    There’s waves around Maui??

Yeah, it does seem fairly obvious, eh?

But wave power is still quite new, and after some trepidation, Maui installed wind power that worked so well they are installing more. (For those who don’t know the geography, Maui has a 5,000 ft mountain on one end and a 10,000 ft mountain on the other. Both have ideal areas for wind turbines.
