I keep hoping led lights will work. I've purchased several at like $35+ apiece in various powers and styles and every single one burned out prematurely (that is, before similarly aged incandescent lights and well before similarly aged fluorescent ones). It may be that the transformers built into the base of the "bulb" burn out and not the leds themselves.

In any event, my actual experience has no correlation with expectations created by articles about led lighting.
