Give people impossible conditions, and extreme leaders arise. Too many of our enemies are the result of foreign intervention gone bad: Bin Laden, the Ayatollahs, even Saddam Hussein. I'm no isolationist-- but I'd like to see us making friends rather than creating enemies.
