In many senses of the word, he embodies the compassionate conservative Bush claimed to be (but isn't). While he's anti-abortion and anti-gay-marriage, he's also pro social programs and pro environment in a way we haven't seen even from Dems in some years. And, as you note, he's for a foreign policy based on negotiation and trust. What a concept. Huckabee's not my first choice for President, but we could (and probably will) do far worse.
