Leftover pills now creating electric power

pills

Hospitals and drugstores often have large amounts of expired and unused pills. Rather than dump them in a landfill where they could get into the water supply, Capital Returns incinerates them, creating energy in the process.

I think it’s a great concept, but what are the byproducts of burning, say, fexofenadine?

OTOH if they’re incinerating old oxycontin or methaqualone, perhaps the demand for downwind property would be strong!
