Too much packaging

Packaging Hall of Shame
Dump excess packaging at the counter says UK environment minister.
Recycling is certainly a good thing, but the problem starts at the source. We need better, more eco-friendly and biodegradable ways of packaging. Everything does not need to be wrapped in thick plastic, better ways can and must be found. Focusing on recycling puts the blame on the consumer when really, it’s at vendor and manufacturer level where the change must come, else landfills will continue being buried in used-once-then-discarded plastic. As long as the focus is on the individual consumer to change, then the systemic problems will never be addressed.
