The Beverly Hills Library is a good place to get DVD's and CD's as well. They have an excellent jazz, international and classical collection and some fine old movies and opera on DVD.
You won't be far from Laser Blazer in Rancho Park on Pico & Prosser. It's the best DVD store in the city.

Yes, we got cable - Time-Warner, who are solid and reliable. It's what we have here too. BH did have Adelphia (who was terrible) but Time-Warner bought them.

Rodeo Dr. is a quick walk for us!

BHPD has the fastest response time of any police dept in the country. However, someone who lives there says (jokingly?) "It's not neccessarily because they're good, it's because they want to see who made the call."

I hope it was cable. :-)

So, can we expect to bump into you the next time we're doing our jewelry shopping on Rodeo Drive? ;-)

Puerto Rico has a huge real estate market too. Prices aren't cheap either. My brother in Keller, TX bought a house with a huge backyard, two floors, four bedrooms and many other amenities and it only cost him $150,000. A similar home here would be probably be around $400,000 in the San Juan area ($600,000 in an affluent area like the beach-front hotel-laden suburb named Isla Verde), or probably $300,000 out of the San Juan Metro Area. But, I'd say that most of the homes are made of concrete to withstand hurricanes and whatnot and thus you have bigger materials cost.

I joke with my brother that I might buy an apartment that is half as big as his home and actually be better valued than his.
