Those are the words of former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark, who is one of Saddam’s lawyers. He says the trial is illegal since its sole purpose is was try Saddam and the judges were “selected, trained, paid, protected by the United States.”
Clark helped found the International Action Center, which in turn was a founding member (but is no longer a part of) the ANSWER Coalition.
He should not be given the death penalty, on the grounds that the death penalty is not the action of a civilised state.
But seriously, though: do you think that the verdict (if not the penalty) wouldn’t be the same wherever he was tried?
On Nov 4th There is and international day of action on climate change.
