Former Mayor of Pasadena Bill Paparian is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in California District 29 on the Green Party ticket. The website is Paparian4Congress.com.
He’s challenging Adam Schiff, a DINO (Democrat in Name Only) who supports the war and votes with the Republicans more often than not.
Paparian says:
It is time to end the war in Iraq and bring the troops home.
When elected, I will represent the majority of this Congressional District’s opposition to George Bush, not collaborate with him.
I am running in order to give voters a choice, for a change; to give voters a Congressman who will tell the President, his henchmen and cronies, ‘No More!’
Also on the campaign site is text of a speech Paparian made in 1996 on the Armenian genocide, an vital issue for this district with a large Armenian population.
Every year, we come to this hallowed site to honor the memory of our 1.5 million martyrs. Armenians the world over do the same on this day, each and every Armenian honoring our collective loss.
But, we also know that the Genocide is not over. It continues silently, relentlessly, insidiously.
He is also known for his tireless work on Cuba.

Full disclosure: I designed the campaign website and first met Bill in 2003 when he was Josh Conolle’s lawyer. Conolle had been unjustly accused of torching Hummers in a case that drew wide attention. The FBI eventually was forced to apologize to Conolle and pay him $100,000.
Bill Paparian is someone we need in Congress.
