Just think: At the beginning of the war, Al Zaqawi was a nobody, with few followers, confined to a small and isolated region of Iraq. Now he is a major power in Iraq, apparently stronger than ever, and one of the most recognized figures in the world.
Clearly this is an improvement… huh?
