Rumsfeld claims defeating insurgents will persuade Iraqis to back interim leadership.
“Success in Fallouja will deal a blow to the terrorists in the country, and should move Iraq further away from a future of violence to one of freedom and opportunity for the Iraqi people,” Rumsfeld said during a Pentagon briefing.
Says he while the US is engaged in a full scale assault on Fallouja in violation of the Geneva Convention. Hey, if Canada invaded the street I live on, blowing up homes and slaughtering innocents, why you betcha, I’d certainly praise them, uh huh.
