The Huffingtons
Arianna Huffington may be running for governor of California. What is not so widely known is that her ex-husband Michael is also running.
Several years ago, as a member of the House from Santa Barbara, he launched a brass knuckles campaign for Senate as a conservative Republican against Dianne Feinstein, fueled by a reported 30 million of his own money. He nearly won.
He then vanished from politics, they split up, and her public comments about him were friendly and understated.
A few years later, in one of the most humorous political statements I’ve ever read, he announced “I’m gay, and I might even be a Democrat”. (!)
He is now “openly gay” according to the L.A. Times and, as mentioned, running for governor. It appears both Huffingtons can say “what a long strange trip it’s been”…
