Immigrant Rights march, L.A. May…

Immigrant Rights march, L.A. May 1st

May 1 is International Worker’s Day, a holiday celebrated worldwide except in the country where it started - here! This march and rally was organized by a number of immigrant rights groups, among them MIWON, CHIRLA, Garment Workers Center, and KIWA, representing a multitude of ethnicities and coalitions.

For many of those marching, simply being there was a major act of courage, as they don’t have Green Cards. For that reason, the word went out, please no civil disobedience or breakaway marches. And there was none.
