YES! Michael Moore wins an…

YES!  Michael Moore wins an Oscar for best documentary!

From Blog Left

“Three cheers for Michael Moore!!!

Michael Moore just won a richly deserved Oscar for Bowling for Columbine and made a kick-ass speech attacking the fictious president, who made up fictitious reasons to fight a shameful war and Mike had the gumption to say SHAME! SHAME SHAME! on you Bush and we’re going to vote you out in 2004!”

From DailyKos

“The audience gave him a standing ovation, though the speech itself was booed by some. Saying he preferred non-fiction, he said we now live in “fictitous times”:

We have fictious election results … We have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons. We are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you!

Given the response he received — wild applause and a standing ovation and heckling and boos, things are truly starting to look more and more like 1968.”

AND, his book Stupid White Men has been on the L.A Times bestseller list for 53 weeks and is currently #1!

The return of fragging

The return of fragging

During the Vietnam war, “fragging” was the term for U.S. officers being killed by their own men.

Yesterday in Kuwait, a U.S. solider apparently tossed grenades into tents where officers were, killing one and injuring at least thirteen.

Bring the troops home now. Before more madness occurs.

Yahoo in trouble?

Yahoo in trouble?

From the highly reliable Cameron, who runs Greens.org

“Yahoo is in real financial trouble. They may go bankrupt. They seem to have laid off the entire staff who used to deal with spam complaints.

As a result, they are rapidly developing a reputation as a “bullet-proof” haven for spammers. And the inevitable result is they are earning a prominent place in the global boycott of spam-supporting Internet service providers.

I strongly advise you to become independent of all Yahoo services.  Tell your friends with Yahoo addresses.  They are going to have trouble getting their email out in the future, and they should start planning their exit now. This goes for Yahoogroups and Geocities users, too.

There are lots of responsible Web-mail providers. They are all cheap, but none are free. Consider mailshell.com or mail.com, among others.”
