Turkey rejects US troops!

Turkey rejects US troops!

“The United States appeared stunned by the Turkish parliament’s refusal on Saturday to allow the deployment of US troops for a possible war with Iraq.

US officials, who had been prepared to hail the parliament’s approval of the deployment based on initial reports that the vote had succeeded, expressed consternation when told that it had in fact been defeated.

“They did what?” blurted one State Department official”.

Jeez Dubya, all that arm twisting and all those bribes and they still told you to shove it, huh?

Bush announces “Constitution update” committee

Bush announces “Constitution update” committee

“The President today announced the formation of a special task force to determine how the Constitution could be “streamlined and modernized” to protect citizens from “the increasing possibility of terrorism”.

Sure to come under scrutiny are troublesome areas dealing with freedom of speech and assembly; which, according to a advisor close to Mr. Bush, are “sloppily written, too broad in scope, handcuff the police, and allow the evildoers to escape.”

While some may deem this to be controversial, the advisor continued; “we also need to seriously examine whether trials are always neccessary once a person has been arrested, especially if we claim national security interests and do not divulge why they were arrested or where we are holding them.”

And you aren’t sure this is satire, are you?

Why does Bush push to silence free speech?.

Arab states paralysed by fear…

Arab states paralysed by fear of their people and the US

“All Arabs, regimes and peoples, agree on one thing: war on Iraq may affect the entire world, but they and their region will pay far the highest price.

The Arab League’s secretary general, Amr Moussa, warns that war will “open the gates of hell”, and President Mubarak of Egypt says that it will light a “gigantic fire” of violence and terror.”

The start of which is only weeks away.

Massive civil disobedience coming soon…

Massive civil disobedience coming soon to your town?

“If U.S.-led forces attack Iraq, anti-war activists in the Bay Area and around the world have “emergency response” plans to immediately blockade federal buildings, shut down commuting arteries and disrupt the financial districts of major cities with massive protests and non-violent civil disobedience.”
