Um, did we ask Yemen…

Um, did we ask Yemen if it was ok to fire missles in their country?

Democrat in Green’s Clothing

Democrat in Green’s Clothing

Green Party of California Media Advisory
November 11, 2002

North Coast- In an apparent last minute attempt to win Green party and environmental voters, Patty Berg, the Democrat candidate for the first Assembly District, sent out a mailer proclaiming that she is the Green candidate.

In a tight Assembly race against Green Party candidate Doug Riley Thron, and Republican candidate Rob Brown, Berg sent a mailer to voters in the district claiming “Don’t be fooled- Patty Berg is the real Green candidate.”

“It is flattering to have the Democrats mimic us, and this last minute mailer shows that the Democrats are running scared,” asserted Susan King, Chair of the CA Green Party Campaigns and Candidates.

“This mailer uses the word “Green” repeatedly, yet Patty Berg continues to court the logging industry by accepting their campaign contributions toward her election. She is using our good name and reputation to try to win by deceiving the voters into believing that she is the Green candidate, when in fact, she is not,” King stated.

Pelican Bay prison hunger strike…

Pelican Bay prison hunger strike in third week

Lawyers for the inmates say they are protesting the Department of Corrections’ practice of isolating prisoners believed to be gang members in harsh segregation units, where they are denied most privileges and are rarely let out of their windowless cells.

An inmate can be put in Pelican Bay if a guard believes them to be in or associated with a gang. No other proof neded. This can included simply being seen talking to a suspected gang member. Once in Pelican the only way out is by being released or snitching.

Pelican Bay is cruel and unusual punishment. A visit to Pelican Bay State Torture Chamber

Allies Find No Links Between…

Allies Find No Links Between Iraq, Al Qaeda

Evidence isn’t there, officials in Europe say, adding that an attack on Hussein would worsen the threat of terrorism by Islamic radicals.

Would it be that our government was that honest and forthcoming.

Evil mutants steal blogmaster’s brain

Evil mutants steal blogmaster’s brain

Saved by heroic reader, kosmo, who rants…

So John Robb says that the world is going into the toilet and there’s *nothing* we can do except stay home and wait for it to pass.  And your response is:

“Well put…”

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me but I think some evildoer has hijacked your website. The Bob that *normally* posts to this website is an Activist w/ a capital A.  He’s Mad As Hell And He’s Not Going To Take It Anymore!  He doesn’t care about the odds - he’s going down fighting. He going to do *whatever* it takes to reclaim his country.  He would never have said: “Well Put” to such nonsense.

This pansy that that’s advocating the full Ostrich Mode isn’t going to fool Bob’s readers. Not for a minute.  So you might as well turn him now loose before you have real trouble on your hands!

<KA-POW! Take that evil monster of ennui and defeatism. SPLAT!! Never again shall you trick me… SMASH!!! >

This fool Robb *allows* as how it’s ok to vote (as long as you don’t get too worked up about it). Well let’s look at the governor’s race to see how useful voting is going to be for the average person.

You, yourself, estimated that that Peter Camejo - who appears to be an excellent candidate - won’t get any more than 8% of the vote. The SF Chron had the following headline on Saturday: “25% of voters are still undecided.” This headline, by the way, is not true. It’s not that %25 of potential voters can’t decide between Davis and Simon.

They already *know* that they don’t want to vote for either one of these slimy characters but under the Rules Of Voting, as the average person understands them, they have no other choice.

Let’s review the Rules Of Voting that have been “drummed into us” since Forever:

<> There are only 2 real political parties.
<> Only candidates from the 2 Real parties have any chance of winning
<> A vote for *any* other party is a Wasted Vote.
<> Voting is a Sacred Duty in a Democracy
<> Wasting your vote is a violation of your Sacred Duty.

Therefore *millions* of decent people in this state would *love* to have some like Camejo to vote for but they *truly believe* that their only legitimate, “responsible” choice is to, once again, pick the “lesser of two Evils”.

There are two things that could change this:

<> These people could suddenly wake and realize that they’ve been brainwashed (don’t bet all your money on this one).

<> The people could receive “special permission” and be authorized (just this one time) to vote a 3rd party candidate by someone w/ the authority to grant such an exemption. For example if the SF Chron or the LA Times had endorsed him. Or one or more respected, major celebrities could have endorsed him. Had either of these 2 things happened it would *instantly have become a 3 way race.

And then people would have had an actual choice.  But since neither of those two things happened then those millions of decent voters are going to do what they’ve been told is their Duty and, holding their nose, vote for someone who will lie, cheat and steal from them.

This is the reality of the one Action that John Robb will allow us while we wait for Our Rightful American Life to be returned to us.

Maybe Turkey won’t either

Maybe Turkey won’t either

Islamist party wins landslide victory in Turkish elections

Turkey is a strong ally of the US and Israel and until now has had a strictly secular government.

But the unexpected scale of the victory, built on a rout of the parties linked with a gruelling economic crisis, will also test the AKP. Founded only a year ago, it has little experience of power, faces a court case to outlaw it and has a leader banned by the courts from taking up any government post.

If the court case to outlaw the party succeeds, Turkey will unquestionably have tremendous internal turmoil. If it loses, then Turkey has an Islamist government.

I’m guessing an Islamist government would not be a strong supporter of Israel or allow itself to be used as a staging area for the US to invade Iraq.

Peace breaks out in Sri…

Peace breaks out in Sri Lanka

Tamil Tigers give backing to democracy across Sri Lanka

This is an event of the same magnitude as the IRA putting down their guns.

After nearly two decades of civil war in which 64,000 people have died, Sri Lanka’s government and the Tamil Tigers have achieved a startling breakthrough in their efforts to end the conflict that has torn apart the tropical island.
At the end of a second round of peace talks in Thailand, the Tigers announced yesterday that they wanted to participate in democracy, and would allow other political parties to operate in the areas under their control in the north and east. Their “ultimate aim was … to enter the political mainstream, which is democratic”, said their chief negotiator Anton Balasingham.
